Frequently Asked Questions

What is the shipping charge?

At THE FLEA TREATMENT STORE we offer FREE SHIPPING on any orders above USD $49.00 - no matter how many different products you order, if the total charge is USD $49.00 or above then shipping is free! We don't offer limited "free shipping" like some other sites that only offer free shipping within the USA - with us there is no shipping charge above USD $49.00 no matter which country you are ordering from.  We also don't "build" shipping costs into our product prices and then claim that shipping is "free". With orders below USD $49.00 total value we charge a modest USD $5.99 flat shipping fee to any US address or anywhere in the world! We ship by international airmail only.

It's fun serving people with a personal touch, and we are pleased to be able to provide truly affordable prices on the popular (and generally more expensive) pet products. There are no stockholders to pay, nor advertising with fancy television commercials - so our bottom line is much less than any competitors we've seen.

Orders are processed within 24 hours after reaching us. We ship by international airmail only. We can ship your order to a PO Box Address or a Street Address. Your order will arrive in your mailbox 5-7 days after shipment (on average), but in some instances orders may take 7-14 days to reach you.

Do you offer veterinary advice to your customers and their pets?

We have a licensed veterinarian on our staff in an "as needed" capacity. Feel free to contact us with questions or concerns about your pet(s) and/or the product(s), and he will reply in a friendly and timely manner.

Do you offer online customer support?

Our business is a small tight-knit company so our service never lacks. There's a dedicated telephone number but we aren't glued to a phone, so please leave a message +1 (302) 966-9643 - but the automated online ordering process runs smoothly and we're always only an email away! We pride ourselves in responding to all our customers' queries and inquiries in a timely manner - so we will always respond quickly to any questions you might have or any problems you might have encountered with your order. Just email us at: inquiry@fleatreatmentstore.com

Where do you ship your products from?

We negotiate for the best pet medication prices from around the world (all are Brand Name products made by the exact same manufacturers as you would find from any other legitimate source). This allows us to pass these considerable price savings on to our customers. Our products are shipped from a number of countries (mainly Europe, Australia and South Africa) and all our suppliers have to pass our strict quality control standards - so we ensure that all our products meet strict EPA & FDA standards of quality.

Is a veterinary prescription required?

No - you may order any of our products without a veterinary prescription. The pet meds we offer are all freely and legally available in vetshops all around the world. If you have a special request for a prescription-only product and are fed-up with paying the high vet prices, then simply send us the prescription your vet has provided you with (you can request a script from your vet). Contact us and we will arrange for you to fax or email/scan the prescription to us.

How can I be sure of your product quality?

The products we supply represent 99% of the best pet meds available worldwide. They are produced and marketed worldwide by well known veterinary healthcare companies like Merial, Novartis, Bayer, Pfizer, Schering-Plough and Cipla. These include products like Frontline Top Spot (or Spot On)Frontline PlusFrontline ComboProgram Flavor TabsCapstarSentinel (also called Program Plus in some countries), AdvantagePrac-tic, Revolution, K9 Advantix (also called Advantix in some countries), Ex-Spot, Profender and Drontal. If the product and the packaging have the official company logo on them, as well as the serial number and expiry date, then it's the real thing, and will be the identical product no matter which country you buy it in.

So for example, products like Frontline or Advantage, will be the same products no matter whether they are sold in the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, The Middle East, Asia, New Zealand or South Africa. Sometimes there will be slight variations in packaging and of course the units of measurement in the USA will be in pounds (lbs) and ounces (oz), but in other countries they will be in kilograms (kg) and milliliters (ml). The correct dose for the relevant size and weight of your pet will however always be the same, no matter which country you buy your pet treatment product in.

Can identical pet med products have different names in different countries?

Yes they can - confusion can be avoided by remembering that identical products can sometimes have different names in different countries. For example, Frontline Top Spot (USA and South Africa) and Frontline Spot-On (UK and Europe) are exactly the same product - they come in the same sizes and dose strengths in all these countries, and they contain the same active ingredient (Fipronil). Similarly, Frontline Plus (USA, Australia and South Africa) and Frontline Combo (UK and Europe) are identical products. Additionally, Sentinel (USA) is called Program Plus in some countries, and K9 Advantix (USA) is marketed as Advantix outside the USA. Confused? No need to panic--just follow the links to our customer friendly product pages!

Do you offer cheaper generic equivalents of some well known products?

Do you offer cheaper generic equivalents of some well known products? Yes - cheaper but equally as effective generic versions of some pet med products are also available in some countries. One such example is Fiprotec (Fipronil) - it is the generic version of Frontline Top Spot (or  Frontline Spot On). Fiprotec (Fipronil) is an identical, generic spot-on product and is produced and marketed by Cipla Animal Health. It's quality and efficacy are as good as Frontline - but at a much better price! So it contains exactly the same active ingredient (Fipronil) that is found in Frontline Top Spot or Frontline Spot-On but costs a lot less. We will only offer certain generic products to our customers - those that have passed our strict EPA & FDA equivalent standards of quality.
